Dana Kirk, Head CoachA 2004 Olympian, Stanford graduate, and the head swim coach of Greenmeadow for the past two seasons. Dana has over ten years o fcompetitive experience and is currently training for the 2008 Olympic
trials. She specializes in creating the perfect combination of technique, positive mind set, and practice -- the keys to swimming fast. Dana is looking forward to having a great season, a lot of fun, and winning a meet or two this year!
Chris Cox, Assistant Coach A first year assistant coach, Chris has represented Greenmeadow and Gunn High School for the past two years. Specializing ingoal setting, tracking progress, and having fun. Chris is excited to both coach and represent Greenmeadow this season!
Megan Hughes, Assistant Coachsez "Take it to the next level!". Megan has been teaching children how to swim for the past four years. She loves working with kids to progress their skills and their lives. She swam on the City of Mountain View's LAMVAC team for years and was an assistant coach for a season. She's really looking foreward to developing a relationship with you and your kids. Parents, thanks for all your time and effort. As for the kids, you are all doing GREAT! She already sees so much improvement. Keep it up gang!
Colleen Volpe, Assistant Coach, started swimming for the Greenmeadow swim team when she was 8 years old and continued on the team for 11 years. In addition she swam for the SCRA (now PASA) swim team, and was a co-captain on the Gunn High School Varsity Swim Team. She also was on the Gunn Varsity Water Polo team for four years. Colleen just completed her sophomore year at Boston College.
Colleen is back for her second year as an assistant coach at Greenmeadow, and she is excited to be working with the younger kids again. She thanks all of the kids for working so hard in practice, especially on improving their stroke techniques so they can swim fast!
Caroline Bruce, Instructor.A 2004 Olympian (200 Breaststroke), Caroline Bruce has coached 2 seasons of summer league at home in Kansas and has been teaching private lessons for the past 4 years. She has competed on numerous international teams representing the US and is looking forward to helping people reach their goals this summer. Look for her folder in the next few weeks.
Caitlin Reynolds, Instructor. A varsity swimmer on the Stanford Women’s team, Caitlin has over ten years of competitive swimming experience and has competed around the world for both the U.S. (2002-03 US Junior National team) and for her club team, Dynamo Aquatics (Georgia). She has taught private lessons for the past two years. Look for her folder in the next few weeks.
Sven Hinrichsen, Instructor. A varsity swimmer on the Stanford Men’s team, Sven has nine years of competitive swimming experience, has qualified for the 2008 Olympic trials, and was a member of the 2006-07 US National Junior team. He has worked with some of the top coaches in the country, has taught private swimming lessons for the past four years in Maryland, and is fluent in German. Look for his folder in the next few weeks.
